Welcome Spring
With the warming of the weather and more outdoor activities, we would like to remind everyone to please be sure your pet is up to date on all vaccines. As our pets start to have more interactions with other pets and have the potential to come in contact with wildlife during this time of year we start to see the spread of bacterial infections and viruses increase. The most common infections include kennel cough, canine influenza, and other upper respiratory infections due to high interactions while boarding, being groomed, and having play time at dog parks; leptospirosis due to exposure to the urine of wildlife and other infected animals; and rabies due to exposure to wildlife, especially skunks, raccoons, and foxes but can also be passed from unvaccinated domesticated animals. If you are unsure if your pet is up to date on their vaccines, please contact our office to inquire.
